Meet the Interns: Peter Van
Over the next few weeks, we will be putting the spotlight on our Amazing Intern Team – letting each one introduce themselves through a series of blog posts. Here’s one of the individuals currently interning at Burkett CPAs:
Peter Van is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina studying Accounting and Finance and a Carolina Finance Scholar. He is from Blythewood, SC and has been assisting our audit team since June 2021.
When Peter started his internship, he expected it to consist of inconsequential, menial tasks, since that is how many internship programs turn out. “But [I] quickly realized I was wrong.” In fact, Peter’s work as an intern consistently adds value to the firm audit and tax functions. Through Burkett’s internship program, Peter has gained valuable exposure to the financial structures of various types of entities. He hopes to continue helping wherever he can to the best of his ability.
Peter’s biggest takeaway from his first 9 months at Burkett Burkett & Burkett CPAs is that our team is not only a group of coworkers. “I have found that BBB is not only a great firm, but also a family.”
In his free time, Peter likes to keep up with the sneaker market, practice boxing, and watch Cubs baseball.
