Burkett CPAs Office Reopening Plan

The past two-and-a-half months have certainly been challenging for our Burkett family, and we know that they have been challenging for the personal and business lives of our clients as well. Our primary concern through this unprecedented event, as it was before and always will be, has been the health and safety of our staff and our clients. We have not stopped working or providing important services to our clients through this time. By implementing many new safety procedures in our offices, having many of our employees working from home, and limiting the availability of our physical offices to our clients, we are proud that we have been here and been able to meet the needs of our clients, an obligation and privilege we do not take lightly.

We apologize for any inconveniences to our clients that these restrictions may have caused, but we are certain that you understand that this event demanded an overabundance of caution in response to a vastly unknown threat to us all.

As the State of South Carolina has been easing the ordinances put in place in response to COVID-19, many businesses have begun to reopen and return to a new normal with many new safety restrictions and procedures in place. Constantly monitoring updated information and guidance from government and health organizations, at this time, we feel that we will be ready to re-open our West Columbia and Rock Hill offices to non-employee traffic on June 15th.

On our side, we will be doing our diligence with regular cleaning and sanitation of surfaces and common areas. We are providing personal protection supplies for our employees and clients, monitoring the health of our employees, implementing social distancing and limiting close personal contact in our office.

We are very excited to be able to let our clients come into our offices and meet in person. Spending personal time with our clients is vital to us and quite frankly, one of our favorite ways to get to know you better and, hopefully, find the best ways to serve you and help you be more successful.

As we do this, with your safety and ours in mind, we will be asking for your help and cooperation. If you choose to come to the office, our reception area will look a little different. Our receptionists will be keeping a log of our visitors so that we can track contacts, if necessary. We will ask that you answer a few short questions, practice social distancing and refrain from hand shaking or other personal contact while in our office. We strongly encourage everyone who enters our offices to wear a mask or face covering. We will gladly provide you with a face mask, gloves and hand sanitizer.

If you come to pick up and sign your tax return and would like to sit in one of our tax rooms located off our lobby and have someone go over your return with you, please be aware that our Administrative staff will be wearing a mask and we will require that you wear one as well.

Please know that if you are not ready to visit us, or if any of these implemented changes are worrisome to you, we are still perfectly capable of meeting with you by phone, Skype, Zoom, or other electronic communication. Even “snail mail” is still an option! We respect and value each one of our clients and know that each person has a different set of circumstances and concerns. We are ready and willing to serve you now, as always. You are our priority and we are well aware that our success is wholly dependent upon your well-being, both financially and personally.

We thank you for the trust you have placed in us and promise that it is not taken for granted. We look forward to getting back to a “new normal” and serving you better in the future!

Stay safe and well and let us know what we can do for you!
