Burkett Burkett & Burkett CPAs President Addresses AICPA Council

Donny Burkett recently addressed the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), not as our Executive Vice President, but as the Chair of National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). In his speech he spoke about his 3 main objectives as Chair of NASBA:

1. To Build Trust
2. To Be Forward-Thinking
3. To Enhance the Tools Available to State Boards of Accountancy

In the past year Donny has worked hard to meet these objectives and continues to do so each day. The ultimate goal of CPAs must be to do what’s right and protect the public they serve, because this is the only way to maintain the strength and integrity of the profession.

He reiterated that success isn’t something that can be instantly achieved; it comes from hard work and dedication. Because of this, one of his proudest achievements is the South Carolina CPA Certificate that’s framed above his desk, though he’d rather not sit for that exam again!
